The FCC has granted a sunset to communications companies for the second generation of cellular communications, or 2G.

Beginning in 2012 and extending through 2017, communication companies will no longer be required to support or maintain 2G communications.  All communications MUST be converted to 3G or 4G/LTE by the sunset date.  What does that mean to you?

If your alarm system communicates to our central station via cellular service, it may stop working without any notification.  The only way to ensure that your system is communicating to the central station is to test your system.  We encourage all of our customers to test their system on a weekly basis.  We would also recommend having a consultant discuss options with you to verify that your system will continue communicating past the sunset date.  Options include network communication, 4G/LTE cellular communicators, and two-way radio communicators (depending on your location).

Please call (800) 542-7866 to schedule an appointment with a consultant.
