May showers can bring no power!

Guard Tronic typically doesn’t call on a.c. power failures because:

  1. You know you are sitting in the dark. You don’t need us to tell you.
  2. There is probably nothing you can do about it, other than wait for the power company to restore the power.
  3. Our systems have backup batteries to maintain the system without activating an alarm for hours.
  4. Fire code requires that no notification be made during a leveling out period.

Unless you have thousands of dollars of meat and cheese in a refrigerator, like a pizza restaurant.
Unless you have blood frozen in a freezer waiting for a needy recipient.
Unless you have live fish/seafood that needs to have an aerator on 24/7.
Unless your loved one is on oxygen or another home health aid to help them recover.
Unless you are an essential communications company and need to have power to all of your switches, routers, and other pieces of the communication chain.

If you NEED to be notified during a power failure, we are happy to setup power monitors that can notify you when power is lost.

If constant power is necessary, we can monitor your generator and advise you of issues.  The State Fire Marshal’s Office recommends these six steps when operating a generator:

  • Use outdoors only.
  • Vent the fumes away from humans and animals.
  • Install alarms!
  • Add fuel after the generator has cooled down.
  • Take care with electrical cords.
  • Hire an electrician to handle the high voltage.

If you have questions about power monitoring, we would love to discuss options.
