A sharp increase in the number of fires and fire deaths takes place every fall and winter.  Space heaters, electric blankets, and fires in wood burning stoves and fireplaces are just a few of the causes of these fires.  Public fire departments responded to 1,318,500 fires in 2018, meaning a fire department responds to a fire every 24 seconds.  They respond to a structural fire every 63 seconds, and a home fire occurs every 87 seconds.

Home fires were responsible for 11,200 civilian injuries and 74% of fire deaths.

While the statistics are getting better, fire is still a high cause of injury and death.  Arkansas averages 66 deaths per year by fire and Oklahoma averaged 70.

Guard Tronic employees NFPA trained and NICET certified fire designers.  We would love to discuss a plan of action for your and your family should a fire ever start in your home.
