False alarms are one of the biggest challenges for alarm companies and our customers.  Most police agencies believe that 95-99% of alarm calls are false alarms.
Guard Tronic has been affiliated with the False Alarm Reduction Association since 2010. FARA is composed primarily of false alarm administrators from across North America. Besides compiling data on false dispatches and providing information on their web-site, FARA hosts an annual symposium for members to compare best practices and learn about new technology.  The alarm industry is always invited to participate.
Guard Tronic was the only small business participating in the symposium this year.  We have attended every in-person symposium since 2010 and this was our ninth presentation. Fort Smith Regional Manager, Jordon Brown, presented on video verification and its use in reducing false alarms.
