The keypad in this picture has a manufacturing date of 1981. This is 15 years before Guard Tronic became a DMP dealer. It is able to display the local weather because it is connected to a modern control panel communicating through the internet and over a cellular network. The control panel was manufactured in the USA approximately 35 years after the keypad.
As the cellular infrastructure changes from 3G/4G to LTE to 5G and beyond, you will need to upgrade your communicator….but you won’t have to upgrade your entire system.
If you have an existing DMP system and want to add our new 7” touchscreen, it doesn’t necessitate upgrading all of the other security components.
