systems, are often specified by architects and engineers during the design of a building. The installation of these systems is usually awarded to:
- the lowest priced security company,
- through the lowest cost electrical subcontractor,
- through the lowest cost general contractor.
These fly-by-night companies are rewarded for installing the cheapest system possible in the quickest timeframe possible. The end user is often left with a system that doesn’t work and a company that refuses to honor the one-year warranty usually required by most new jobs, or the company has gone out of business.
